When Niles City Schools (NCS) educators saw K–3 literacy scores for the 2015–2016 school year graded as “D” on the State of Ohio report card, district leaders considered it a catalyst for change.
In a district-wide effort to boost teachers’ foundational reading instructional skills, administrators at Rapides Parish launched a concerted effort to find a solution.
LANGUAGE! Live is designed for students like the sixth graders at Dr. Louis A. Cerulli School No. 34—those who had never experienced reading success—with the goal of improving their decoding, spelling, grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills. Although most struggling students are eager to learn, they are often uncomfortable when asked to read aloud or sound out words in learning groups.
Students and teachers experience success implementing TransMath at Farmington Schools.
The REWARDS program helps students in Gilmer County Georgia Charter Schools move beyond the confines of poverty and low achievement.
To meet the needs of all their students—including at-risk students, English Language Learners (ELLs), and gifted and talented students—school administrators wanted to find a research-based solution that had a track record of transforming students' writing skills and that could be easily implemented at every level of instruction.
With an increase in English language learners (ELLs) and the complexities that accompany this group, urgency and pressure are mounting for school districts and educators to provide curricula, instruction, and strategies to transform these students to proficient readers, writers, speakers, and listeners of the English language.
